The slot in the screw was created by using hot glue to attach the screw to a waste board which was clamped in the horizontal vices.
The screw was created with a 90degree "V" router bit using a two start and a 1 inch pitch. One of the starts was removed with a 1/2 inch straight bit. The taper was set by eye so the degree is unknown. The screw is 15 inches long and 4 inches in diamter at the head. The rest is 2 1/8 dia at the thickest part just under the head.
